December 1-12, 2025 for Food Bank of Nevada County
As Cathy has been sharing, we are gearing up for the Area 4 "Inaugural Nevada County Rotary Food Drive." The winning club will receive a custom-engraved Rotary Food Drive Bell, which they can proudly keep until next year's challenge. Needless to say, our club immediately accepted the challenge. A food collection box is at each Club meeting and we encourage you to start collecting at home.
This is a fun way for us to try to "best" the other clubs. However, it is more than that. It is a way for us to easily donate much-needed food to help restock the depleted shelves at the Nevada County Food Bank. The challenge will be based on the weight of food collected. Cathy is in communication with the Food Bank about their most pressing needs. We will send out a list of food items as we get closer.On your mark, get ready, because the contest runs from December 1, 2025, to December 12, 2025.
Nevada City, Truckee and Penn Valley Rotary teamed up with District 5190 for a $11,650 district grant. We have now received District 5190's $6,650 matching funds. The grant will fund the first year of personalize books for Nevada County children.
