Seniors (in) Action:

Every spring semester, senior students from the Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning (SAEL), a small public high school in Nevada City, embark on a shared journey of discovery, joy, and growth with a handful of curious and thoughtful senior citizens. Starting in February, small groups of high school seniors spend 8 weeks filming interviews with community elders.

The interviews are conversational, and include shared artifacts, photos, memories, stories, and much more. In May, everyone gathers to watch the films together and celebrate the experience.

Elders take home a beautiful multimedia memoir, with poems, stories, photos, and the film.

We’d like you to join us this year.
