Please allow extra time for parking and walking to lunch meetings for the next few months!

We know it is inconvenient ...

Note the pedestrian walkway through the Nevada St parking lot to Broad St along the freeway side of parking lot and green fence. Contact Cathy if you have mobility concerns.

Reconstruction

The reconstruction of the Main St. (Nevada St.) bridge has begun and the bridge over to the parking lot that many of you use is now closed off. We realize that this will be an inconvenience for the coming months but we do not want it to affect your attendance at our meetings. Please remember Boe and TJ’s will be impacted way more than us and we need to continue to support his business.

Parking Options

There are several ways to get to parking that is close to our meeting location at TJ’s. The following are some areas where parking is generally available.

PLEASE NOTE: While the bulk of the Nevada St. parking lot is being used to stage equipment for the bridge renovation, the City has fenced off a walkway from the parking lot to Broad St. which will take you to the sidewalk just above the crosswalk over to TJ’s. The pedestrian walkway from parking lot to Broad Street is between freeway side of parking lot and green fence. Watch this space as other options may open in the coming weeks.

Nevada St. Parking Lot – there are about 14-15 spaces at the upper end of the lot that may or may not be available for our lunchtime meeting. There is a turnaround area in the parking lot in case you get there, and no spots are available.

High St. – This is the street that runs along the Episcopal Church just above the Nevada St. parking lot. If all spaces in the lot are full, there is parking the entire length of High St. one the left side and almost the entire length on the right side.

Nevada St. – There is usually parking in front of the Episcopal Church and the Charles Marsh house.

Sacramento St. – There is parking on the upper part of Sacramento St. as you get near Adams (Penzance Park and Chevron Gas Station) and a short ½ block walk to TJ’s. NOTE: It is uphill on the way back.

Railroad Ave. – There is almost always plenty of parking along Railroad Ave. just past Tri-Counties bank. Again, a short walk down and uphill back.

Driving directions:

If you are coming from Grass Valley the easiest way may be for you to continue past the Broad St. exit and take the Uren St. exit. Turn to your right and just past the Carriage House turn left onto “B” Street. At the top of a small rise, you will intersect with Nevada St. Stay to the left and take Nevada St. (Washington is the right fork) to either the parking lot or High St. or on-street parking on Nevada St.

If you come down Sacramento St. or take the Broad St. offramp, turn to your left and go up Broad to the stop sign at Union. Turn right onto Union and keep straight past Post Office (street is now Coyote St.). At the stop sign by St. Canice Church, turn right onto Washington St. and then at the top of the hill you will need to make an awkward right turn onto Nevada St. Take Nevada St. to either the parking lot, High St. or find on-street parking on Nevada St.

Caution: Do not turn onto Grove St. – parking is extremely hard to find, and it is very difficult to turn around.

If you are coming from downtown Nevada City or NSJ or Boulder St., go to Union St. and follow the directions up Coyote to Washington to Nevada St.
