Continuing on with Rotary Foundation month in November, RI President Francesco Arezzo reminds us to Give with Gratitude
and how much we can do together — So much for which we can all be grateful. Around the world! and right here, too.
For instance, having Lynn Skrukrud as our guest / member speaker at last week's meeting. She addressed the ongoing efforts and changes at the Nevada City Chamber of Commerce. As Executive Director she sure has her hands full and is prepared to continue the thrust of commerce in our ‘cute little town’ as it is often referred. See their new logo, for example.
Speaking of the Foundation, Lynda Guthrie— who happens to be our Foundation Chair — will give her Craft Talk this coming Thursday at Round Table 5:30. Be there or be square…!
Last Thursday we were proud to formally elect Andrea Mason to serve as Nevada City Rotary Club President 2026-2027. Tom Ryan was re-elected as Treasurer and Robin Milam as Secretary.
Lots of information in our Rotario…please read on and fill out the Club survey by Dec 7…important.
As we continue strengthening our Club and planning for the New Year ahead, your input has never been more important. We want to ensure our meetings, programs, fellowship, and future venue options truly reflect what you value most.
That’s why we’re inviting you to take part in our Nevada City Rotary Club Membership Survey—a quick and meaningful way to share your ideas, experiences, and hopes for our Club.
The survey takes only a few minutes, and every response matters. To complete, click:
Please complete the survey by Sunday Dec 7. A big THANK YOU to members who already completed the survey!
Thank you all for being an essential part of our Rotary family and for helping guide our next steps forward. Together, we can create an even more vibrant, engaging, and welcoming Club experience.
December 1-12, 2025 for Food Bank of Nevada County
We are gearing up for the Area 4 "Inaugural Nevada County Rotary Food Drive." The winning club will receive a custom-engraved Rotary Food Drive Bell, which they can proudly keep until next year's challenge. Needless to say, our club immediately accepted the challenge. A food collection box is at each Club meeting and we encourage you to start collecting at home.
This is more than a fun competition! It is a way to easily donate much-needed food to restock the depleted shelves at the Nevada County Food Bank. The challenge will be based on the weight of food collected. Cathy is in communication with the Food Bank about their most pressing needs and will send out a list of food items as we get closer.
On your mark, get ready, because the contest runs from December 1 - 12, 2025.
Nevada City Rotary will be doing our annual bellringing with the Salvation Army Saturday December 13 from 9am-5pm at SPD. See Walt if you want to participate! We will be joined by First 5 Nevada County who is hosting a table to enroll children in our Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library project. Salvation Army is hosting a Kick Off Party on November 20 at 5:30pm for bellringers.
Nevada County Toy Run - GV South Rotary
Grass Valley South is sponsoring the 34th annual Nevada County Toy Run. While we ring bells at SPD on Dec 13, 2025, hundreds of motorcycles will rumble through the streets of Nevada City and Grass Valley en route to the Fairgrounds to deliver toys, gifts and food to local families in need this upcoming holiday season.
Last year the Toy Run served over 1,200 families and 2,300 kids and the need is anticipated to be even greater this year. Since 2021 over 7,300 kids and 3,200 families have been served.
