The weather outside is about as unpredictable as life. Several of our members are facing challenges, either with physical problems, moves, work pressures and other stresses. We realize how hard it can be to want to be at a meeting or participating in a project and yet, because life has other ideas, you can’t. We want you all to know we miss you, but we understand when you have to miss a meeting or event.
We also appreciate seeing those of you who can make it. Last week’s social gave us a chance to meet Miles Adler, a Rotarian from Tahoe City who decided to move to this side of the summit and to leave the meeting loaded down with Paul Boch’s oranges and Meyer lemons.
This week we look forward to hearing about Cattle Ranching in a Sustainable Manner from Tim Reid. An educator and rancher, Tim and his wife reside in Penn Valley, where they maintain an impressive equine setup and actively participate in cattle operations. We are back at TJs for lunch, PLEASE RSVP by NOON on WEDNESDAY with your meal choice.
Keep an eye out in the next month or two on Penzance Park. A crew of six hardy members met last Saturday morning and planted approximately 350 more daffodils, hyacinth, and crocus bulbs in our ongoing effort to beautify this little “parklet” in Nevada City. We have lots of fun, exciting things happening in the next couple of months so choose one, two or more to become involved in and Create Hope in the World, as we live Rotary From the Heart.

It is that time of year! A small group of Nevada City Rotarians took advantage of short break in the atmospheric rivers to plant more daffodils, hyacinths, and crocuses. Good news is the ground was soft for Walt Stickel, Cathy Wilcox-Barnes, Tom Ryan, Gayle Denney, Kelly Babineau and Dave Brown.
