Hello Nevada City Rotarians and Friends!

One way to tell that the end of the Rotary year is coming is the extra flurry of activity that begins to happen. Getting projects and contests completed and entered into Rotary Showcase to send in our accomplishments, getting ready for the District Conference, setting up the next year’s Leadership team and so much more. But the Nevada City Rotary Club is pedal to the metal all year round so it just seems like the same warp speed we always operate at. You might not even notice another activity or two thrown into the mix. To be candid, we Presidents do start counting the days until the demotion party!

You have all helped us accomplish so much this year. The past few weeks and the coming weeks are examples of your dedication and commitment to our Club. Thanks to Louise and the Youth Committee we have talented contestants selected for the Speech and Music contests at District Conference, and we have great campers going to REGL and RYLA. Thanks to Chris and the Environmental Sustainability team we had a wonderful day at Earth Fest. We were able to showcase our efforts to reduce Climate Change and strengthen sustainability and also to talk about Rotary and our efforts both at home and abroad.
Thanks to Tom Ryan, Cathy, Kelly and Dave, Chris, Walt and Sandy, Jim, Robin, Louise, Steven, Kim, and Nancy for staffing and to those who dropped by Earth Fest including the NC Chamber event coordinator Lynn!

Thanks to Nicole, the Vocational Committee, Pearce and our Club Foundation Board, we can continue granting scholarships that enhance students’ lives; to Lynda as Foundation Chair for steering our expanded support of The Rotary Foundation; to Carolyn and the Fundraising team we will be able to improve our financial position to help with those scholarships; and to Dan and Community Service we continue to help in our community wherever we can. We are finishing up our Area 4 Grant to improve facilities at NEO. Citizens have enjoyed colorful blooms at Penzance Park. Thanks to Dennis and the Membership Committee we have added new members to help with all we accomplish. To Carolyn, Lynda, and the International Service team, we show that Rotary is truly an international organization as we provide hands-on service in Mexico, Guatemala, and beyond. Check out the photos from the health clinics in Los Barriles.

And finally, thanks to Judy and Club Service we will soon be celebrating another great year of Service Above Self as this Presidents’ team exits stage left and we welcome Louise Johnson as our new President.

We return to TJ's Creekside. Please make your meal choice and RSVP today!

From our hearts to yours, we are Rotary from the Heart!

Your Presidents,

Karen and Cathy
