I am so sorry that I missed our program last Thursday. I understand that Chad Wingo, publisher of The Union, did a superior job. This week we look forward to Chief Dan and Nevada City Police Department Officers speaking about the POST program.
Our club has been very active this past week – packing food with the Kiwanis for Nevada County Food Bank, replanting trees at the epicenter of the Caldor Fire, standing strong for World Polio Day at the Firehouse Museum, and getting ready for the Area 4 Foundation Event to be held on Nov. 19. Thank you to Jim Bair for getting us involved with the Kiwanis Club.
Our lunch program next week (a week from Thursday) is our own Judge Kelly Babineau, talking about the state of our court system and then the next week at the Thursday social, Tally Gould will be giving her craft talk. The presidential trio will be having a switch next week as Cathy begins four months of leading our meetings -- but don’t worry, we will all be supporting each other.
Be sure to say Happy Birthday to Chris when you see her around town, her birthday is this week.

The Caldor Fire left a devastating scar on the Sierra forest. On Saturday, Oct 28, a team of Rotarians from across D5190 partnered with Boys Scouts and Sugar Pine Foundation volunteers to replant trees in the Grizzly Flats area, the epicenter of the Caldor Fire. A big thank you to all who participated in bringing new life to Grizzly Flats. You make hard work look fun being together!

What a night!We raised $1,035.00 for the night plus $375.00 from the pumpkin cup over for the past couple of months, then more on World Polio Day and Nancy’s bid gives a new total of $1,525.00 to date for our Pumpkins for Polio effort. Way to go!
