If ever there was a time this year to make a Rotary meeting it was last Thursday at
Bodhi-Hive. Our Dr.Chris Newsom spoke to her “Adventures in Bhutan", a landlocked, mountainous country in South Asia, nestled in the eastern Himalayas between India and China, with pictures and videos of life in that country and culture to really awaken the senses!
Miles, Jim, Louise, Dennis, Alicia and her partner, Ken, Robin and Tom, Peter Newsom, Tom Ryan, Walt, Cathy and I all heard of her medical opportunity back in 2011. The architecture + customary attire were amazing to behold!
With Giudita (ie. Judy) and her team of artists, we will be assembling for Pumpkin Palooza Painting across from Seaman’s Hall in Nevada City (just above the pool in Pioneer Park) this coming Thursday evening 5:30 on. Bring a craft apron and join us. (Bring some snacks along if you feel like it!). And plan to join us in the Constitution Day Parade on Sunday.
Please read ahead for current ‘Paws' updates and meeting times. And invite your neighbors and friends to join: Saturday, September 27 … Pioneer Park - Open 1-4. We need all-member-help starting 9am, some earlier. Thank you in advance.
Join Nevada City Rotary as we proudly march in Nevada City’s Constitution Day Parade this coming Sunday, September 21 at 2:00pm. We are gathering to celebrate and promote all our emerging book worms, painted Palooza pumpkins, and furry paws. Timmy, Lassie and Dolly Parton (in cardboard form) will be marching with us. The parade starts at top of Broad Street at 2:00pm; we will line up around 1:30pm.
Suggested attire: If you have a Paws t-shirt, wear it or a Rotary shirt or, of course, a Rotary cap. Feel free to add related attire (such as dog ears) to expand on the themes of our Pumpkins Palooza, Paws and A Cause, and Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
49er Rotary's annual Duck Race is at 3:00pm. It will be a fun afternoon.
What a fun afternoon with a full house painting pumpkins for our Pumpkins Palooz. Decorating pumpkins is really fun! We have some amazing talent. Check out Lucille and Albert — just 2 of the colorful, creative results!
