Great social meeting on Thursday! Thank you to Walt for his craft talk on growing up as a child of an emigrant parent. Really interesting to hear about your early life and connection with German family.
To add a little flavor, we even had a visitor from Germany thanks to Chief Dan who met Fritz while he was touring Nevada City. Dr. Fritz Schopfer is a long-time member of a Rotary Club in Germany, and we presented him with one of our club banners to take back with him with the promise he would send us one of his club’s banners.
A big thank you came from Cathy Anderson-Meyers, organizer of the Barbara Schmidt Millar Triathlon. Cathy thanked us for our club’s many years of financial and participation support of the triathlon which celebrated Barbara’s life.
Our club grew by another new member this week – Andrea Mason was inducted! Be sure to say congratulations and answer any questions about our club that she may have. We are looking forward to meeting her Rotarian father when he comes to visit our area. Welcome, Andrea!
This past weekend five members from our club took advantage of the Rotary Clubs In Action seminar in Reno. The sessions were informative and had opportunities for many participant discussions. We will try to have an opportunity for attending members to give their “aha moments”.
Keep that Rotary spirit strong all week long …
