NOW we are onto Christmas, Hanukkah and New Years. In this season of giving, we have special opportunities with our Rotary Food Challenge and our Mt St Mary’s REGL coat drive. Hope you all rejoiced with family and friends on Thanksgiving … we sure did.
Special thanks today go out to Lynda Guthrie as she brought us up the Congo River with the unique costumes and her recognizable smile in the saved pictures. Thank You Lynda. Craft talk meetings are amazing.
Thursday’s Social 5:30pm Round Table meeting December 4th will feature Noel Brownell. Here’s a busy man we would like to get to know even more. Come a little early and get some grub and libation for a festive hour.
Eudaemonia…Onnellisuus… a couple of new words in our Rotary magazine this Month. Perhaps they caught your eye, too. The Happiness Issue was filled to the brim with great accounts on this topic. Could hardly put it down!
December is Rotary’s Disease Prevention and Treatment Month as President Arezzo details so well in his Message. Unite for Good he reminds us…for healing, friendship and access to HAPPINESS.
Enjoy your Rotario…!
Peace,
Pearce
ps Next week, December 11, is our festive Holiday Party! See below to RSVP if you have not already.
December 1-12, 2025 for Food Bank of Nevada County
We are gearing up for the Area 4 "Inaugural Nevada County Rotary Food Drive." The winning club will receive a custom-engraved Rotary Food Drive Bell, which they can proudly keep until next year's challenge. Needless to say, our club immediately accepted the challenge. Cathy has starting bringing food boxes to Club meetings. Thursday we filled our first with food and money! We enjoy the exhileration of seeing much-needed food collections come in to restock the depleted shelves at the Nevada County Food Bank. The challenge will be based on the weight of food collected.
What to Donate (Food Bank Preferred Items) Please avoid glass containers and all homemade foods. Shelf stable donations do best when placed in bins.
10. Mac & cheese (with cheese sauce included—no butter or milk needed)
Monetary donations: Scan our club’s unique QR code on the bin, click NCRotary donation or share it digitally. Every $1 donated = 1 pound toward your total!
On your mark, get ready, because the contest runs from December 1 - 12, 2025.

I'm expecting at least one of the kids to attend the meeting and say thank you for the coats and for the camp experience.
