Our Club was represented by seven more members attending this past Saturday’s RLI (Rotary Learning Institute). That makes ten of our members taking part in learning about Rotary. We heard new and old ideas that made sense to bring back, and we deepened our relationships. If you have any questions about any of the material, please bring your questions, and let's open up the dialogue at this week’s social.
Speaking of this week’s social, Kelly Babineau — Club member and Honorable Superior Court Judge — will give her craft talk. I’m looking forward to learning more about Kelly’s special interests.
We’ll see you on Thursday at 5:30 at Round Table Pizza. Come a bit early to place your order. Bring a friend, your family if you like – we’d love to meet them.
Remember to start looking for items that can be sold at our Upscale Resale and contact Carolyn about what role you will fill to make the day a success.
Nevada City Rotary is planning a fundraiser to support our community service and youth programs on Saturday, May 4. The site at 175 Ridge Rd is easily accessible from 49 Hwy at Gold Flat/Ridge Rd exit and from Zion St in Nevada City.
Nevada City Rotary is proud to participate with three local Rotary Clubs in a $26,000 District Grant to pay for numerous additions for Bright Futures for Youth (BFFY).
The Rotary District 5190 Grant – the second major grant from the clubs and district during the past year – will allow Bright Futures for Youth to buy audiovisual equipment, install an ADA-compliant ramp, and pay for new patio furniture and lighting at the nonprofit’s Litton Hill campus for the organization’s Unhoused Project. Bright Future’s SAFE program assists young people facing housing instability.
And Cathy Wilcox-Barnes is organizing Sergeant at Arms (SAA) - a fun way to also serve during Conference. See Cathy to volunteer as SAA (may include a few cookies.)
