On April 17 we had a chance to visit the annual Tulip Festival at the Ananda's Crystal Hermitage. What a wonderful, glorious gift to our community! Many thanks to Nevada City Rotarian, Mai Lee, for hosting us. Rotary Rob surprised a few club members when he popped in! He quickly hopped off to hide in the tulips!
A visit to the Crystal Hermitage reminds us of the value of peace. On April 11, RI President Stephanie Urchick sent out an inspiring letter encouraging us all to continue our work worldwide. She talks about how our ideals of fellowship, diversity and service transcend all bounds. She reminds us that Rotary has weathered two World Wars, the Cold War and multiple pandemics to bring health and healing world-wide. It is a welcome reminder to continue to do what we do. For the full text of her letter click President Stephanies’s message to our members.
On April 24 we’ll be back at Bodhi-Hive for our lunch meeting. We’re excited to hear from Nevada City Mayor, Gary Peterson, about the “State of the City.”

The next day we’ll be joining the 49er Rotary Club and the City of Nevada City for a free showing of the film, “Join or Die” on Sunday. Doors open at 2:00 for a wonderful opportunity to share the value of Rotary with our community. Next, dust off your thinking caps for our Area 4 social event,Trivia Night, starting at 5:30 Tuesday April 29 at the Alta Sierra Country Club. I know we have a least one table in the making.
