It’s time for second helpings. The Nevada City Rotary Club is once again presenting “The Hungry Games II” a major fundraiser dedicated to food, wine and the fine art of gourmet cooking on Sunday, March 15, 2020 from 5 to 8 pm in the Miners Foundry.
This year, Nevada City’s hugely popular Ham Stand takes over cooking duties following last year’s first place win among competing restaurants. Owner/chef Jason Jillson promises four different gourmet tastings from around the world and will compete with Rene, his own sous chef. Three wineries will offer pairing tastings to go with the food.
Coming Soon! Watch for details of our Hungry Games II Top Chef Competition and Winner Takes All Restaurant Raffle! As in 2019, you don't have to be present to win the Exclusive Raffle for a dozen $100 certificates at Western Nevada County's favorite restaurants ~ $1,200 Value! Proceeds support our Youth Projects and Scholarships as well as local community projects.
In the meanwhile, we will continue to share information about first our wildly successful Hungry Games 2019. Read our Hungry Game Press Release (2019).

Supporting Youth Projects, Scholarships and Community Projects
Hungry Games is a major fundraiser to support our Youth both locally and in Mexico as well as local community projects. Nevada City Rotary sponsors a variety of projects with local Nevada City Schools including a recent trash clean up on Sugar Loaf with Twin Ridges Home Study. We are sponsoring students from Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning (SAEL) and Forest Charter to Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) and Rotary Eighth Grade Leadership Experience (REGL). We also sponsor the Girls Who Code Program at Seven Hills Middle School and are a sponsor for the ACME and ARES Robotics teams. In Los Barriles Mexico we participate in a variety of projects. This year a group will volunteer to run a Vision Clinic and also do screening of students for diabetes, etc. Last week we planted more bulbs in Penzance Park and help Nevada City maintain Miners Trail which our Club built many years ago.
Rotary’s motto is Service Above Self and we love being in service in many ways here within our Community as well internationally.
